Congratulations to Keith for his excellent research on registering with a GP, writes Martin Cox.

The letter he had from DoH also referred to making use of Minor Injury Units. Cruising this summer I developed an infection in one of my toes. Taxi to Dewsbury & District Hospital MIU at 10am, bandaged and prescription, departed 10.15am.

No problem

No problem with registration or even the need for a 'local' address. According to the receptionist I was the second boater that week.

I appreciate that, for some needs, a GP is required. As a matter of interest the unit at Dewsbury is run under contract to the NHS by a non profit community interest company.
