Don't moor under trees in a gale

SOME boaters realise, yet others don't, that it is not wise to moor under trees in a gale.

One boater mooring under a particularly large tree had his boat trapped on the Market Harborough Arm, Alan Tilbury reports.

This boater obviously did not realise the danger that perhaps more experienced boaters would, and moored under a particularly large tree in a very strong wind.

The mature 80ft specimen just could not stand the force of the wind and crashed down on his boat making it impossible for it to move. Though the event occurred on Monday the boat was awaiting contractors yesterday, so they still have not been able to move and examine the damage.  No one was hurt.
