CaRT now into weddings

THE Canal & River Trust are now organising weddings, starting at Standedge Visitor Centre on the Huddersfield Narrow Canal.

The Trust has now been granted a licence to hold weddings at the former warehouse (pictured) by the entrance to Standedge Tunnel, even allowing wedding parties to arrive by boat, Alan Tilbury reports.

Cruise

The wedding parties can board the boat at Marsden then cruise to the visitor centre to join the guests, with up to 200 being able to be accommodated, with the Thomas Bourne room having a bar and serving kitchen.

The Trust has now appointed Sam Christopher as Wedding Manager at Standedge Tunnel, with various wedding 'packages' available starting at £3,750.
