Pop concert at Anderton

THERE is to be 'Summer Lift Off' concerts at Anderton Boat Lift this month featuring bands from the Eurovision Song Contest.

This will take place on Friday the 18th August and Saturday 19th August, with Brotherhood of Man and Bucks Fizz topping the bill on the Saturday evening whilst on the Friday the main act will be soul singer Martin Cost with the Marrs to Motown tribute band, Alan Tilbury reports.

Seventies favourites

Seventies favourites Brotherhood of Man, who won the Eurovision Song Contest in 1976 with Save Your Kisses For Me, will perform with the full original line-up, with the band joined by Bobby G’s Bucks Fizz, the latest line-up of the group which won the Eurovision Song Contest in 1981 with Making Your Mind Up.

Doors open at 6.30pm for both nights, with tickets costing £10 in advance or £15 on the gate.
