TWO men have been charged with the murder of another man after pushing him off a canal bridge.

The two, Mark Munro and James Robertson deny the murder of Russell Robertson by pushing him off a canal bridge in Falkirk over the Forth and Clyde Canal, Alan Tilbury reports.

'Next he was gone'

However a witness at the trial in Glasgow High Court told that 'one minute he was there, the next he was gone', then Russell Robertson vanished off the bridge into the canal, and subsequently was discovered dead in the waterway.

It was a night club security man who told the court he witnessed the alleged victim being attacked by two men then disappear from the bridge, stating that he saw the 27 years old victim grasping the railings with one man prising his fingers off and the other man hitting his other hand grasping the railings.

The witness then told he looked into the water but could not see anything, and that the two men had run off.
