Massive development on the Soho Loop

THE quiet cruise around the Soho Loop on the BCN will soon be a thing of the past as a massive development is to take place.

Two companies have combined to buy up 12 acres of land by the canal as a regeneration site in Birmingham, Roger Fox tells us.

800 homes

Birmingham City Council has already given planning consent for 500 homes, but the two companies have now revised their planning permission for a massive 800 homes.

Old canalside buildings and works will all be demolished to find space for the development that it is stated 'will help to address the city’s housing shortage', with a spokesman stating:

“It is going to transform what is a neglected and derelict area of Birmingham into a canalside quarter of high quality homes with character in a green pocket."

Soho Loop is off Birmingham Main Line, connecting the other side to Icknield Port Loop.
